As the Spring Arts Festival unfolds across Sierra Canyon, students step into the spotlight, sharing work that reflects both creative exploration and refined artistic skill.

One Night Only: Dance

The festival opened on April 10 at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, where dancers from the Lower and Upper Campuses performed a program of contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and musical theater featuring both faculty choreography and original student work. Technical growth and creative voice were on full display, alongside milestone recognitions: Savanna C. ‘27, Zoe D. ‘26, Lola N. ‘26, and Sahhra M. ‘26 were inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts, which honors outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in dance. Medals were also awarded to seniors graduating with Honors, including Lola N. and Sahhra M., as well as Alexis O. ‘26 and Sophia T. ‘26, who were inducted last year.

Upper Campus Visual Arts Exhibition

Running April 14 through May 8, hallways, classrooms, and galleries across the Upper Campus became a canvas, as Middle and Upper School students transformed the school itself into a living exhibition spanning mediums, perspectives, and artistic voices.

Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th Grade students took to the stage on April 14, performing with growing confidence across both music and language. Selections varied by grade level and included pieces such as Ukulele RobotMister SunBest Day of My Life, and Cover Me in Sunshine, alongside Spanish-language performances of Los Días de la SemanaLos Verbos, and a Spanish Conjugation Rap, as well as a Spanish dance to Madre Tierra.

Upper Campus Arts Week Activities

The week of April 20 brought hands-on creative exploration to Middle and Upper School students through Arts Week, where designing and crafting custom buttons offered students a low-stakes way to experiment with new techniques and materials outside the structure of a formal assignment, reinforcing the role of creative exploration within the school day.

Lower School Art Show

From April 21–23, the 2nd Annual Lower School Art Show, Los Angeles: A Place Called Home, invited Pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grade students to explore the city's people, places, and stories through original visual work, with each piece reflecting a personal aspect of identity, place, and perspective.

Sierra Canyon Film Festival

On April 24, student filmmakers debuted their work at the Sierra Canyon Film Festival, held at UTA in Beverly Hills, with films by Dean G. '26, Krish C. '26, Charley V. '26, Kellen O. '26, Everest B.
