Sierra Canyon students across both campuses gathered this week to honor Veterans Day and express gratitude to those who have served.
On the Lower Campus, 5th Grade students led the Veterans Day Assembly for parents and peers from Pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Through heartfelt reflections, they highlighted the significance of the holiday and the importance of honoring veterans. The program included musical tributes from the Lower School Choir with “You Are Our Heroes” and a joint performance of “Veterans, We Love You.”
Honored military guests presented the colors, and the Lower School Ensemble performed “The Star-Spangled Banner,” accompanied by CFO Richard Shapiro on percussion. A ceremonial flag folding offered a quiet moment of respect, and the assembly concluded with a slideshow celebrating students’ veteran family members—a touching reminder of service within our community.
Meanwhile, on the Upper Campus, the History Department hosted a presentation featuring a student-produced video celebrating veterans from the Sierra Canyon community. This video shared personal stories of service, allowing students, faculty, and families to gain a deeper glimpse into their experiences.
Together, these observances united our community in thoughtful tribute—inviting reflection on veterans’ sacrifices and stories while celebrating their courage and dedication.
