Lower Campus students embraced the spirit of the Winter Olympics last month during a physical education unit inspired by the international games.
Throughout the week, Pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grade students competed in Olympic-style events. With creativity and enthusiasm, the Kardashian Jenner Pavilion and Nikou Family Field became an Olympic venue as students enjoyed friendly competition and the energy of the games.
Each event brought excitement to the unit. Students approached curling with focus and strategy, learning that precision and patience can rival speed. Torch Tag boosted energy and quick thinking, while Duo Skiing tested coordination and collaboration. Beyond the games, the unit highlighted how physical education builds confidence, cooperation, and a lifelong love of movement.
At Sierra Canyon, learning is designed to be fun and engaging. Through the Winter Olympics unit, students built teamwork and perseverance while discovering both the joy of movement and the value of supporting one another. For our youngest Trailblazers, it was a gold medal experience.
