Sierra Canyon School held its Fall Honors Research Conference on December 16–17, featuring TED Talk–style multimedia presentations by 11th and 12th Grade Honors Research students.
Taught by Dr. Domzalski, Honors Research is an interdisciplinary experience designed to mirror the expectations of university-level scholarship. Early in the semester, students took their learning beyond campus with a research visit to UCLA’s Powell Library, where they practiced navigating academic databases and university resources while strengthening skills in source evaluation and scholarly note-taking. From there, students developed evidence-based arguments and transformed their findings into engaging presentations that blended visuals, audio, and storytelling to communicate complex ideas with clarity and impact. Families, faculty, and peers filled the audience as presenters demonstrated confidence, analytical depth, and subject mastery—all while balancing AP coursework and extracurricular commitments.
